Adult/Teen Lesson 2

TEAMWORK AND ME

Ephesians 4:15-16,
15 but speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in all aspects into Him who is the head, even Christ, 16 from whom the whole body, being fitted and held together by what every joint supplies, according to the proper working of each individual part, causes the growth of the body for the building up of itself in love.

One of the most important things to remember in football is knowing that it is a team sport where the goal is not to run with a ball…but for the team to move the ball downfield and into the end zone and that every play works based on every player’s part.
T – TOGETHER
E – EVERYONE
A – ACHIEVES
M – MORE than we could ever do on our own
The potential of the team is only realized when everyone plays their position.
That same thing is true of our calling as a person and member of a church. We should grow in our life with Christ both as an individual and with the body of Christ. Our combined gifts are more effective than individual gifts.
Spiritual gifts are not just given to church leaders but all believers.
Gifts are given to followers of Christ for three purposes:
1) To serve one another. Galatians 6:2
2) To demonstrate God’s love to the world. John 13:35
3) To build us up and make us strong in our faith. Philippians 4:13

Are you on God’s team, or are you on team me?
